Preliminary

So this is our groups preliminary task, in the editing process we were down to, two group members we decided to half the editing with myself doing the first half and the other members doing the second half.
I defiantly learnt  a lot from the task especially  when it comes to green screening because as you can see it really can't workout sometimes.

Girls just gotta have fun - kinda

So i found this on youtube, which has a similar line to my music video i chose to analysis.
It is worlds apart and shows a stark contrast between the 80s and modern day 2013.
This shows how the younger ages are being exploited, although you could say it is age appropriate i find it ridiculous.
I think it also show's you that modernised versions aren't always better and this certainly isn't.
Its like a child pimped sassy mini version of Nicki minaj and i know that nothing inappropriate is happening but i think isn't representative of the original song or even name.

Media Hw

'girls just want to have fun' by Cyndi Lauper is a well known and much loved song of the 80s.
From 1983, the bright and colourful picture is fun and bouncy.
It reached number 2 in the Billboard top 100, and became a worldwide hit in 1983-4
In 1985 'girl just want to have fun' got made into a dance film, staring Sarah Jessica Parker, Helen Hunt and Lee Montgomery.

The film truly represents and mirrors the music video which ironically is all about having fun and doesn't take anything to seriously.
The Music video doesn't really have much of a story line and is slightly random and wacky, i think there is an element of girl power shown in this video which i love.
Although Cyndi does feature quite heavily in the video she doesn't take over and over power it, involving other scenes and clips which make it more interesting.
I also think the sort of split screen phone scene is really interesting because it brings in the whole idea of friendship and must have been quite different at the time especially with the neon pink ring around the edge, it isn't trying to be something it isn't and screams 80s especially when you watch it today.
The extreme and mad fashion and hair are all again fun and young. Make up is also bold with bright colours being used.
The video represents the young carefree youth well and i think the make up, fashion and hair are all mirrored and represented in the video.

I personally really enjoy the video and it makes me want to dance and sing along, i think this was its goal and it achieved it well.
